No Exit
May 21, 2013……..No exit from threat of lawsuits.
Leave practice, and don’t have the opportunity to correct deficiencies that may come to light, e.g. a colonoscopy, mammogram, pap smear, or PSA test that wasn’t ordered, or a lab test that wasn’t followed up on in a timely manner.
Stay in practice and have the opportunity to make more mistakes of commission or omission.
The only way out is to die, get disabled while practicing, go to jail for malpractice, or cease taking any new patients and just focus on the ones already in my “panel.” The latter course doesn’t preclude making errors on these same patients going forward.
Another option: my license could be revoked because of narcotic prescribing errors or deficiencies in chart documentation. In that case, I might still be able to review charts of patients previously seen but not take on new patients or deal with new problems in existing patients. I would scan the record for deficiencies before sending the record out to another doctor to take over the “case.”

January 2013
Since this could be an unlucky year, no sp this year.
remember 93 and the angels. Despite statements to the contrary this could be the year for RR. It'll certainly be the year for renting at 127, though the date is looking more like May at this time.

July 2, 2012:
After reading Alex Orlando's article in today's Courier-Journal about Highland's ordination of the gay minister, Maurice Blanchard, my eyes happened to fall this evening on a saying Luke attributed to Jesus after He was chastized for eating with Levi and his other tax collector buddies: "Nobody puts new wine in old wineskins; otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins and run to waste, and the skins will be ruined. No; new wine must be put in fresh skins..." (Luke 5:37-38) (posted on the CHBC Facebook page)

Do the Work
Matthew 21:28
What do you think.
doing the work when you don't feel like it
doing the work when "your heart's not in it"
doing the work when you feel hypocritical doing it.
doing the work when you feel autistic and don't like people
doing the work when it's a struggle to appear interested
doing the work when you feel someone else could do it better
doing the work when you feel someone else could do it more efficiently and/or effectively
doing the work when you feel paralyzed by guilt over mistakes you've made
doing the work when you feel unappreciated, underpaid, and taken for granted
doing the work when you feel dumped on
doing the work when you'd rather be doing something, anything, else.
doing the work when you risk being sued for missing stuff or transgressing.
doing the work when it's messy and time consuming
doing the work "when your arms are too weary."
doing the work when you're depressed and dispondent.
doing the work when you're burned out, miserable, trapped, and unhappy.
doing the work.......
what do you think?
Admiral Jakoby's aphorisms:
"All blow, no go."
"A man's desk is like his mind."
"Do it now."
