Losers

The old adage, "Laugh and the world laughs with you; cry and you cry alone," is reversed at NCAA and NIT tournament time. There are more losers than winners, and each of the losing teams is comforted by the reality that they're not alone. In fact there's only one winner in each tournament, although those who make the final 16 and final four are winners of sorts. But, being alive and being able to play the game at all makes winners of all the participants, but they often don't feel that way and find more comfort in the company of fellow losers.
